The school was last inspected in July 2024.  Please see the full report below.

We realise there is still work to be done and our current improvement goals are:

Quality of education

  • Phonics & Reading - Further develop a culture and love of reading and improve outcomes for pupils not meeting the standard.
  • Writing – Presentation -The presentation in pupils’ books is consistently good across all year groups.

  • Writing – Stamina -Pupils can write at length and with resilience to produce work meeting age-related standards

  • Writing – Quality /Attainment and Delivery -Pupils are writing at a level expected for their age.

  • Writing – SPAG - Pupils' spelling shows improvement in their writing. Pupils’ attainment in SPAG tests increases and is closer to the national average.

  • Embed the Scheme of Learning in place and achieve consistently good delivery across all subjects

  • Assessment - implement use of Arbor for recording assessment across all subjects in line with the assessment policy, so that assessment is consistently used to inform planning and teachers’ delivery.

Behaviour and attitudes

  • Continue to develop pupils’ attitudes to learning, resilience and persistence when facing challenges.   Pupils' attitudes and ideas contribute to school life and wider community.

  • Further develop exposure to a variety of cultures and careers within school.

Personal development

  • Develop opportunities and experiences so pupils have access to a wide, rich set of experiences. Pupils have opportunities to develop their talents and interests beyond the standard curriculum.
  • Provide more opportunities for children to develop resilience and independence which allows them to face challenges with confidence both in and out of the classroom.

Leadership and management

  • Monitoring – Develop through CPD subject leaders to use assessment to monitor pupil progress and attainment.

  • Monitoring of writing- Teachers are supported to deliver high quality English lessons so that pupils' writing improves in line with national averages.

Quality of education in early years

  • Continue with a period of embedding the curriculum knowledge-rich curriculum, to ensure children know more and remember more, continue to build on the recently obtained strong outcomes at EYFS.
