Watlington Community Primary School
New Library Officially Opened
Is there a better way to celebrate World Book Day than to hold our library opening?
The library has been in planning since 2022. However, 2025 saw the drawings and plans become a reality.
Today, on World Book Day, we were joined by The Mayor and Mayoress of King’s Lynn, members of the PTA, Governors and some of our children and staff.
The Mayor officially opened the library after discussing the importance of reading. The Mayor then read Hairy Maclary of Donaldson’s Dairy by Lynley Dodd. Refreshments were served and there were many conversations about books.
We would like to thank the Borough Council for their funding from the Community Infrastructure Levy funds, the incredible PTA who have organised many events in order to fundraise, and our book donors to update our shelves. Our Amazon wishlist is still active, the link can be found here.
